March 2002 On-Post Quarterly Groundwater Monitoring Report

Section 3 - Well CS-16 Water Level and Transducer Data

Precipitation data collected from the meteorological station at Well CS-16 between October 5, 1998, and March 22, 2002, are shown in Figure 3-1.  During the September 2001 monitoring event, the water level data from the CS-16 transducer was not recorded due to a technical malfunction.  Therefore, CS-16 groundwater elevation data and precipitation data from the June 2001 event through the September 2001 monitoring event is missing from Figure 3-1.

As noted earlier, groundwater levels decreased 70.97 feet, as averaged from each formation, between December 21, 2001, and March 22, 2002.  During this period, there were 15 rainfall events with a total precipitation of 2.25 inches.  During the previous quarter when groundwater levels increased 15.46 feet, there were 28 rainfall events with a total precipitation of 10.13 inches.  For comparison from all events, Table 3-1 demonstrates the total precipitation received each quarter and the average groundwater level increase or decrease. 

Transducer data was collected from wells CS-MW9-LGR, CS-MW9-BS, CS-MW9-CC, CS-MW4-LGR, and CS-16 during this monitoring event.  The groundwater elevation data for the CS-MW9 cluster wells was plotted in comparison to the daily precipitation as measured from the meteorological station at Well CS-16 in Figure 3-2.  Transducer data was collected from wells CS-16 and CS-MW4-LGR from January 11, 2002, through March 20, 2002, and is shown in Figure 3-3.
