Soil gas survey conducted in “South Pasture” which included one point within SWMU B-11 and several in the vicinity of the site.  PCE was detected in the sample collected within SWMU B-11, at a concentration of 0.28 ug/L.

Five soil borings (SB01-SB05) were drilled and sampled on February 28 and 29, and samples were analyzed for VOCs, metals, and explosives.

Excavation activities commence under TO 0019.  3,078 cubic yards of waste material was excavated from the site.  Confirmation sampling showed all COCs meet RRS1.

Excavated approximately 2600 cubic yards of soil from site.  Found old parachutes, roofing debris, and metal debris.

Pot shot excavations to define the extent of the trench contents.  Found concrete, burnt wood, tar roofing material, and wire.

Excavated soil hauled off to Covel Gardens.
