Section 5.0 - Interviews with Former CSSA Personnel
Interviews with former and retired CSSA personnel were held after the location survey was completed. These personnel were employed at CSSA at the time that the mustard gas shells were excavated in 1958. Personnel interviewed included Mr. Alan Stahl and Mr. Garth Gompert. Mr. Gompert reported that he operated the backhoe used to excavate the shells. Mr. Gompert and Mr. Stahl pointed out the general vicinity within which the mustard gas shells had been buried. This area approximately 150 feet north of the area surveyed and staked by Baker Surveyors.
