[SWMU B-14]

SWMU B-14 Work Plan, RL17 Project

February 1996

Soils: Trinity and Frio

Known: Records indicate a fired small arms ammunition brass area.

Previous Investigations: Could not be located during a field investigation, even with the area overturned from fence repair (ES, 1993b).

Data Needs: None.

Closure Activities: Since no records of disposal could be found and the site could not be identified during field activities, B-14 should be delisted as a solid waste management unit. The site should not have been included on the original list of solid waste management units. The following evidence will be used to support delisting of the site as a solid waste management unit:

  1. Complete CSSA records of any activities which have taken place at the B-14 site.

  2. Evidence of CSSA intent for activities at the site may indicate why the site was included as a solid waste management unit in the original list. The site may have been intended for fired brass disposal but was never implemented as such.

  3. Aerial photographs.

  4. Logbook notes of field activities at the site documenting the lack of fired brass.

  5. Pertinent notes taken by personnel during fence repair activities.
