RFI Work Plan Addendum
Rifle Management Unit 1

Soils:  Krum complex and Trinity and Frio soils (frequently flooded).

Known:  The site is a large active rifle range area in the east pasture, approximately 64 acres in size.  Historically, a light gauge railroad situated in the northern portion of the range was used for mobile target practice.  The range is currently used to conduct quality checks on assorted munitions.  Located adjacent to an embankment at the range are two areas where spent targets and munitions are buried.

Previous Investigations:  A field survey indicated miscellaneous spent ammunition and small rockets are present.

Data Needs:  To be determined after site becomes inactive.

Closure Activities:  No closure activities are planned for rifle management unit 1 as part of the requirements under the RCRA 3008(h) Order because the site is still active.
